Prevention and Combating of Torture of Persons Act

To give effect to the Republic’s obligations in terms of the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment; to provide for the offence of torture of persons and other offences associated with the torture of persons; and to prevent and ombat the torture of persons within or across the borders of the Republic; and to provide for matters connected therewith.
